@kiosk I think it goes like this:
You reply to dads.cool, and it stores a copy of that reply there. Since dads.cool doesn't know who you're fedrated/defederated with, it can show your response to anyone they're federated with. When someone responds to you, dads.cool gets a copy of the response, but since you are defederated, the server rejects it on your end.
